ResMed Announces Two New Executive Team Members

ResMed has two new executive team members, both promoted from within the company.

In a May 2 announcement, ResMed said Michael Rider will become Global General Counsel & Secretary. Rider will remain in his current position as ResMed’s Senior Vice President, Deputy Global General Counsel until July 1, when he succeeds Chief Administrative Officer & Global General Counsel David Pendarvis, who is retiring. Rider has served as one of ResMed’s top attorneys for more than 10 years; he began with ResMed as its Vice President, General Counsel-Americas in 2012.

In that same announcement, ResMed said Dawn Haake, the Vice President, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs, became the company’s first Chief Quality Officer on May 1. Haake joined ResMed in 2015 as its Vice President, Quality Assurance, and then added the role of Vice President, Regulatory Affairs in 2017.

Both Rider and Haake joined ResMed’s executive team on May 1 and will report to the office of the CEO, the announcement said.

Mick Farrell, ResMed’s CEO, said in the announcement, “Mike and Dawn are both longtime industry experts, celebrated team leaders, and relentless drivers of ResMed’s culture of excellence, always putting the health, safety, and wellbeing of patients, providers, and our employees first. I’m excited to have them both join ResMed’s executive team. Their internal promotions into these critical roles demonstrate ResMed’s deep bench strength across the organization, enabling us to reach our goal of helping 250 million people sleep, breathe, and live healthier lives in 2025.”
