CAIRE to Acquire MGC Diagnostics Holdings

Taking on MGC will add non-invasive cardiorespiratory diagnostic systems, accessories and consumables to CAIRE’s product lineup.

Portable oxygen equipment maker CAIRE Inc., a subsidiary of NGK Spark Plug Co. Ltd., will acquire cardiorespiratory diagnostics company MGC Diagnostics Holdings Inc., with the deal slated to close before year's end.

MGC designs, develops, manufactures, and markets non-invasive cardiorespiratory diagnostic systems, accessories, and consumables that are used for the detection, classification, and management of cardiorespiratory disease. The company has a broad portfolio of products anchored by its pulmonary function testing systems, cardiopulmonary exercise systems, spirometers, flow sensors, gas analyzers, and associated consumables.

The acquisition will align CAIRE’s oxygen products with MGS’s line. An aging population means growth in conditions requiring cardiorespiratory diagnostic testing. A statement from CAIRE said the acquisition would advance its mission to connect with patients throughout the progression of pulmonary disease — including awareness, diagnosis, therapy, and monitoring.

“MGC has a state-of-the-art portfolio that is widely adopted to diagnose respiratory disease and to ensure that the information obtained benefits disease management,” said Earl Lawson, CAIRE President and CEO. “These tools are an excellent complement to CAIRE’s complete range of oxygen therapy solutions.”
