ResMed Debuts AirTouch N20

The company’s first nasal CPAP mask made with memory foam, the AirTouch N20 adapts to the curves and contours of the user’s face.

Sleep and respiratory equipment maker ResMed has unveiled its AirTouch N20 nasal mask, the company’s first CPAP nasal mask that uses a memory foam cushion.

AirTouch N20 uses the same patented UltraSoft memory foam cushion as ResMed’s full face AirTouch F20 mask, which it introduced in 2017. Both masks use the phone to adapt to the curves and contours of each user’s face, to create a soft, personalized fit.

That increased comfort aims to increase CPAP therapy compliance. In a ResMed clinical study, 90 percent of CPAP users rated the UltraSoft foam cushion a 4 out of 5 or 5 out of 5 for comfort.

Also, the foam cushion doesn’t require cleaning when replaced on an appropriate schedule.

Other features include: 

• A quick-release elbow that lets patients easily disconnect from tubing without removing their mask, and magnetic clips that guide the headgear to the frame quickly and easily.
• AirFit N20’s mask frame fits both AirFit N20 silicone and AirTouch N20 memory foam cushions, which lets clinicians switch between the two during fittings, or send patients home with both to see which cushion type they prefer
• A seal designed for therapy pressures up to 30 cm H2O
