paul hickeyPaul Hickey has been named the new president of CEO of Altimate Medical Holdings, Inc., the holding company of Altimate Medical, ActiveAid and Medical Positioning Incorporated.

Hickey is taking over for Todd Tholkes, who is retiring after more than two decades at the helm of the company. Tholkes held several leadership roles at Altimate Medical since joining the company at its founding in 1987, and will stay on as a board member after retirement.

I felt the timing was right as our company is well positioned for continued growth,” Tholkes said in a statement. "I am confident that Paul, who has proven leadership experience and the commercialization expertise, will lead this company forward into the next chapter.”

Most recently serving as president and CEO of Vertebral Technologies, Hickey has worked in the medical device commercialization space for over 25 years. His previous experience also includes a tenure as senior vice president of marketing and reimbursement at EnteroMedics.

I am very impressed with AMHI’s accomplishments and their global leadership position in standing devices,” Hickey said. “The future looks very promising with tremendous opportunity for growth from our new product pipeline and potential partnerships.”

Altimate Medical is perhaps best known for its EasyStand and Zing standing brands, but AMHI’s portfolio also includes ActiveAid’s shower and commode seating systems as well as imaging platforms designed by Medical Positioning Incorporated. AMHI was sold to Granite Equity Partners, a Minnesota-based private investment firm, in 2017.
