Quality Biomedical Opens Sixth Service Center

The equipment maintenance outsourcing company said the move is part of its goal to be the first company of its kind to have a national footprint.

Quality Biomedical, a company that provides maintenance services for respiratory and infusion equipment, has opened its sixth respiratory service center in Allentown, Pa., due to strong demand in the region.

The company also has locations in Colorado, Texas, Missouri, Georgia and Florida that specialize in the service and management of oxygen concentrators, ventilators and other respiratory and infusion-related products.

“Allentown is a strategic location allowing us to provide equipment service-management programs to our growing customer base in all the Northeast states,” Jim Worrell, Quality Biomedical’s chief commercial officer, said in a statement. “It of course also better supports our large regional and national customers in this important market.”

The move is part of Quality Biomedical’s larger goal of expanding its reach and growing partnerships with major HME brands such as GCE Group, among others. The company also recently expanded its Georgia operations to a new 11,000 square-foot facility, more than doubling the size of its previous location.

“This is another step in our company’s goal to be the first respiratory equipment service-management company with a national footprint,” CEO PK Bala said in a statement. “This is a tremendous value-add for our OEM and HME/DME partners as they strive to improve operational efficiency by reducing the number of vendors and equipment service partners they work with.”

Worrell said in an interview with HME Business last year that Quality Biomedical is focused on helping customers with fleet management, which he sees as an under-addressed problem in the industry.

“A lot of our customers, when we first engage with them, they really don’t have a good handle on their equipment service,” Worrell said. “As far as business improvement is concerned, you look at sales and marketing, you look at facilities, you look at administration, and regulatory and so forth … but it’s just been one of those areas that really was overlooked and underserved up until we came into the game.”
