AAHomecare Launches Market Impact Survey

The American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) has launched a survey aimed at providers who supply home oxygen therapy, CPAP devices, and/or hospital beds.

In an Aug. 23 bulletin, AAHomecare asked for input on “the real-world market pressures on the increased costs of products, labor, and deliveries to use in advocacy efforts to secure reimbursement relief.”

Information captured by the survey “will be used on Capitol Hill to build support for continuing Medicare 75/25 rate relief for non-bid, non-rural areas that are due to take a 32-percent cut on Jan. 1 if legislation isn’t passed, and to secure 90/10 blended rate relief for former CBAs [competitive bidding areas], AAHomecare added.

Tom Ryan, AAHomecare’s President/CEO, said in the bulletin, “With the virtual Washington Legislative Conference just around the corner, the timing of this survey couldn’t be better as we quantify the current, real-world market pressures that HME providers are operating under. A robust industry response will provide useful intel as we engage Congress, CMS, and payers to secure rate relief and protect patient access.”

AAHomecare noted that information will be used in aggregate, and survey results will be anonymous. The survey will be open through Fri., Sept. 8.
