Medline Repackages Remedy Skin Care Line

Medline’s Remedy Skin Care lineup has a new look.

Medline Remedy bottles and tubes lined up in a horizontal row.

In a June 5 news announcement, Medline said it is repackaging the skin care line “as part of the company’s commitment to making skin care more intuitive for clinicians,” and showed off the new packaging at the WOCNext conference this week.

“Launched in 2004, Medline’s Remedy Skin Care line has grown into a comprehensive system of products to help with every skin care need, including cleansing, moisturizing, protecting and treating,” the announcement noted. “After pioneering a unique color-coding system that enhanced efficiency, Medline has continued to make updates to improve the skin care line.”

Medline said it incorporated feedback from nurses who wanted packaging that was intuitive to use and that stood out among other products. Therefore, the repackaging changes include product labeling that states the function — Cleanse, Moisturize, Prevent, Protect, or Treat — of the product. Enhanced color coding on both ends of the new packaging helps nurses to quickly and accurately identify the product’s purpose. For example, green-coded products cleanse hair and skin, while purple-coded products moisturize skin, and blue products are designed to prevent infection by providing a protective silicone barrier against incontinence, which can lead to skin breakdown.

The new packaging also includes updated educational information on how to use the products effectively.

Josh Kolof, Medline’s Director of Product Management, Advanced Skin Care, said in the announcement, “As the leader in this product category for over a decade, it is our responsibility to listen to clinicians and think of new ways to help improve outcomes and make healthcare run better. This latest enhancement focuses on leveraging useful packaging and education to empower nurses and help them deliver high-quality patient care. Our commitment to clinical efficacy and expansive evaluation of our products sets us apart from other skin care lines.”

The Medline announcement added that Medline “holds over 50 percent of the skin care market share across acute care and post-acute care settings.”

The Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society conference (WOCNext) was held this week in Las Vegas.
