DME MAC Workshops Coming to Indy & Milwaukee

The DME Provider Outreach & Education team has announced two comprehensive workshops in Indianapolis (June 21) and Milwaukee (July 12). The June 21 event with DME MAC Jurisdictions B & C will take place at the Embassy Suites Plainfield/Indianapolis Airport. The Milwaukee event is scheduled for the Hilton Garden Inn at the Milwaukee Northwest Conference Center. For more information on either event, visit the workshop Web sites.

Dynarex Sponsors New York Boulders

Dynarex Corp. is an official 2023 sponsor of the New York Boulders, an independent professional baseball team in the Frontier League.

A May 23 announcement said Dynarex would sponsor the Boulders’ first aid station at the team’s Clover Stadium in Pomona, N.Y. Boulders President Shawn Reilly said of the new partnership, “We are thrilled to have Dynarex join the New York Boulders family again this year. They have been a brand leader in the medical supply industry for 55 years and part of the Rockland Community for over 20 years. We appreciate their investment in local and community partnerships and supporting their hometown team.”

AAHomecare Reports Progress with ALJ Backlog

The American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) is reporting significant improvement in the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) appeals backlog.

In a May 31 update, AAHomecare said it met with the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals (OMHA) the week of May 22, which had been under a court order to eliminate the ALJ backlog by the end of fiscal year 2022. During the meeting, the OMHA reported it had “received a voluntary extension on the deadline and were able to remove 99 percent of the backlog in March 2023.”

The OMHA said it has been able to process ALJ appeals “within 90 days for the last couple of months.” AAHomecare reported that in fiscal year 2020, the average wait time hit a peak of 1,430 days.
