Medtrade Spring Sneak Peak

A preview of some of the conference highlights and products that will be freatured during the Medtrade Spring.

Medtrade SpringMedtrade Spring returns once again to the Las Vegas’s Mandalay Bay Convention Center from March 30 to April 1, and while it’s the same show and title, much as has been done to update the event, particularly on the conference side.

For starters, the show kicks off with Monday day-long workshops that include: How to Improve Employee Management via Work Lists, which will be presented by Kathy Quehl, senior implementation consultant for Brightree LLC; An Introduction to the Certified Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME), which will be presented by Michelle Yoon, BOC credentialing manager, Carrie Green, BOC marketing manager, and Jim Howle, senior director of The MED Group’s National Rehab/Orthotics Network; and The Mike Sperduti Sales Management Workshop, by the eponymous Mike Sperduti, president and CEO of Emerge Sales Inc, as well as Mike Strange, vice president of Emerge Sales Inc. Ryan Ball, director of state policy and director of OPGA government relations for VGM & Associates, and Ken Waters, strategic advisor of Emerge Sales Inc.

That Monday will also feature the fitter’s course, Compression Therapy and Its Application in the Management of Venous Disease, presented by Judith Brannan, education/medical affairs manager, SIGVARIS, Inc.

Medtrade Spring’s conference sessions have been overhauled to minimize the overlap between the educational offerings and the expo floor hours, and many of the show sessions have also been extended to include additional question and answer time. The content itself is spread across several education niches: Business Operations, Legislative & Regulatory, Medicare Updates, Niche Markets, Retail, and Sales & Marketing.

“With most sessions occurring on day one, attendees will have most of the day Tuesday and all day Wednesday to browse the Expo floor at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas,” noted group show director Kevin Gaffney in a statement from the show. “Arriving on Sunday really makes sense.”

In addition to the conference sessions, Medtrade Spring will also feature various events, such as the American Association for Homecare’s Washington Update, Power Panel (see page 12) and Standup for Homecare reception; an Audit Happy Hour sponsored by ACU-Serve and hosted by Jeffrey S. Baird, Esq., chairman of the Health Care Group at Brown& Fortunato, P.C.; the HME Breakfast Club sponsored by the Laboratory Tactical Consulting, Strategic A/R, and Wheel:Life; and the Power Lunch, sponsored by VGM Group and produced with the Capital Healthcare Group.

The expo floor will feature both a new product pavilion and a special Ideas in Retail display that will feature a variety of point-of-purchase displays designed to help providers increase their cash sales revenues. And, of course the show floor will feature a wide range of products and services from more than 150 exhibitors. Here’s a small sampling of what’s in store:
