Nearly all HME software systems provide tools that let providers gain better control of their inventory management. Here are some descriptions of various systems’ inventory control features:


AR-Express

    Inventory control includes standard tracking of on-hand quantities, last cost, bar code labels, multiple locations and bin numbers.  In addition to EDI purchase orders and receiving, the DIABCO inventory provides management tools for company assets, or serialized products, such as concentrators or wheelchairs. DIABCO tracks complete delivery and pickup history, all maintenance and repair costs, depreciation, and can even scan and store all asset paperwork, such as invoices and repair documents. For oxygen providers, concentrator and liquid oxygen data will document filter changes and test results as required for accreditation.

    Brightree’s Internet-based billing software includes integrated inventory management automation.  The perpetual inventory and purchase order system tracks serial numbers, lot numbers, equipment maintenance records, and equipment depreciation.  Physical Count Worksheets and bin number sorting streamline routine inventory tasks.  Bar coding is included for serialized and non-serialized products.  System supports Point of Delivery using mobile scanning and data collection devices.  Extensive reporting includes Reorder Reports and Inventory Value Reports.  



Fastrack Inventory Control

    The “Fastrack Wireless Warehouse Automation” utilizes cellular and bar code technology to automate order fulfillment, receiving, physical inventory, as well as the routing of deliveries.  Orders are sent wirelessly from customer service to handheld PDAs in the warehouse providing warehouse personnel with the product name, number and bin location.  As a products are picked, items are scanned capturing the serial and/or lot number and the system verifies whether it is the correct item eliminating shipping the wrong product to the patient.

Includes multi-branch, multi-warehouse management of on order, on hand, reorder points and EOQs. Inventory items may be committed at the time of data entry or when shipped.     SyztemOne includes the ability to look up items by the UPC/GTIN bar code, track serial numbers, track depreciation on serialized items, track lot numbers, schedule maintenance, track repairs, scan documents such as manufacturer’s warranty or use/care/warning instructions, track aisle, shelf and bin location on each item, track month-to-date, year-to-date and lifetime sales and rental numbers, transfer quantities between locations.
