TCS Named Fastest-Growing Company in Maryland

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — TeleCommunication Systems Inc. (TCS), a provider of mission-critical wireless data solutions, E9-1-1 communications and location-based services, has been named to Deloitte's prestigious Technology Fast 50 program for Maryland, a ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies. Rankings are based on the percentage revenue growth over five years from 2001-2005.

Maurice B. Tosé, chairman, president and CEO of TeleCommunication Systems, credits technology innovation and attention to customer requirements with the company's 47 percent revenue growth from 2001-2005. Tosé said, "We are very pleased to be chosen to receive this award for the fifth consecutive year. It reinforces our commitment to serve the market needs for mission-critical wireless data communications. TCS is looking forward to continued revenue growth as we work to bring new and exciting technologies, applications and services to our customers."

TCS' increase in revenues of 47 percent from 2001 to 2005 resulted in a 46th ranking in the Technology Fast 50 for Maryland.

To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2001 and $5 million in 2005, be headquartered in North America, and own proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology.

"Deloitte's Maryland Technology Fast 50 companies have shown the strength, vision and tenacity to succeed in today's very competitive technology environment," said Andrew Harrs, Deloitte's southeast regional managing partner for the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Industry Practice. "We applaud the successes of TeleCommunication Systems Inc. and acknowledge it as one of the very few to accomplish such a fast growth rate over the past five years."
