Soft-Aid, USMD and Visionary Medical Systems Merge

Soft-Aid, USMD and Visionary Medical Systems have joined forces in response to market demands for advanced and innovative IT-based solutions from single-source vendors. The integration of these companies will provide a paperless delivery platform to help insurers work more closely with providers and patients.

Together the companies offer an integrated portfolio of information technology products and services that enable clients to reduce costs while delivering improved and uniform care. Soft-Aid's Medical Office practice management software automates the physician's office from patient registration to scheduling, billing and reporting. Also, Soft-Aid's core offering — the Medical Office DME — resolves the critical needs of medical equipment companies, such as inventory management and PO tracking.

As a unit, Visionary Medical Systems, with its own practice management brand, and Soft-Aid boast a significant provider base ranging from solo providers to university settings. USMD's payer offerings bridge the gap between payers and providers, offering modularized solutions for disease management, Pay-4-Performance and patient health record (ePHR) markets.

As a result of the merger, Soft-Aid's Medical Office products will be marketed under Visionary Medical Office and Visionary Medical Office Enterprise.

In addition, the merger increases the organization's leverage and access to critical resources, including professional staff, technical capabilities, centralized leadership and sources of capital.
