Sunrise Medical Recognized for Innovative Ergonomics

Sunrise Medical was recently selected to participate in the Ergo Cup competition at the 9th Applied Ergonomics Conference to be held March 6-9, 2006, in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

The Ergo Cup is the premier award recognizing innovative ergonomics in the workplace and is presented by the Institute of Industrial Engineers. It provides the opportunity for an organization to demonstrate an effective ergonomics solution or education initiative.

"This recognition underscores the dedication of the Sunrise Medical manufacturing team and the spirit of innovation that permeates our culture and activities," said Allen Traylor, vice president, North American Operations.

The winner of the Ergo Cup competition will be announced during the conference. Some of the judging criteria that will also serve as the basis for the Ergo Excellence awards include: innovation, simplicity, cost savings and ergonomic risk reduction. Manufacturing companies such as Ford, General Electric, General Motors, Honda of America, Johnson & Johnson, and Toyota also will participate in this competition.
