Industry Bids Farewell to Mobility Pioneer Michael R. Bruno

OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — On March 20, Bruno Independent Living Aids announced the death of its founder and chairman, Michael R. Bruno, following a long and courageous fight with cancer.

A pioneer in the mobility products industry, Bruno launched the company that bears his name in 1984. Michael R. Bruno II, Bruno's eldest son and president and CEO of Bruno Independent Living Aids, stated, "It's a great loss for our family. My father was truly passionate about the mobility and accessibility industries and spent most of his life developing and selling innovative products to improve people's abilities to live independently."

In anticipation of this unfortunate event, over the past several months the senior Bruno had worked with his family and the upper management of his company to prepare and initiate a transition of leadership.

Bruno is remembered for his deep commitment to his employees, the industry they served, and most importantly, the thousands of customers who were able to live more rewarding, independent lives through the use of products conceived and manufactured by his company. His dedication to quality, innovation and the entrepreneurial spirit that guided his success remain at the core of Bruno Independent Living Aids.
