ContourMed Enhances Product Manufacturing; Hires Vice President of Manufacturing

ContourMed began 2006 with a new approach to its manufacturing processes by outlining several manufacturing goals and improvements, including streamlined production processes, quality management initiatives and new fitting techniques.

"Because this is such an important part of our business, we created a new position — a vice president of manufacturing — to lead our production department through this process," said Mimi San Pedro, ContourMed's president. "After a nationwide search, we hired Mike Thurman to ContourMed's management team."

With more than 18 years of experience in the manufacturing field, Thurman has worked in management and engineering for companies such as Mercury and Yamaha. He has a degree in naval architecture from Westlawn University in Stamford, Conn.

"Mike has had a long and proven track record in manufacturing management. He brings valuable experience in process management and efficiency, quality control and high productivity methodology to the ContourMed manufacturing staff," San Pedro said.

Pulling from his experience in the industry, Thurman's management plan is already taking shape.

"ContourMed has a solid foundation. The advanced technology and innovative materials product design will make our quality management and productivity goals easier to achieve," Thurman said.

"Excellent service and superior product quality continue to be our focus as we continue to be a major player in this industry," said San Pedro.
