Cardinal Health Announces Dividend

Cardinal Health announced on May 11 that its board of directors “has approved an increase to the company’s quarterly dividend, to $0.5006 per share, out of the company’s capital surplus.” The dividend is payable on July 15 to shareholders at the close of business on July 3.


Study: Asthma Patients Have Greater Cancer Risk

A new study published in Cancer Medicine found that people with asthma are 1.36 times more likely to develop cancer compared to people without asthma. Researchers said, “Overall, elevated cancer risk was observed in asthma patients with or without inhaled steroid use.”

The Study examined health records and claims data from 2012 to 2020 of more than 90,000 adults with asthma and more than 270,000 adults without asthma.


CGS Schedules June Workshop

CGS Administrators is holding a Jurisdiction B&C Comprehensive Workshop on June 21 at the Embassy Suites Plainfield/Indianapolis Airport in Plainfield, Ind.

Educational sessions will include Medicare updates, documentation requirements, Medicare claims processing tips and hints, moving past the COVID-19 pandemic, and supplier Q&A.

The registration fee for the day is $100, and registration is now open.
