HEMCO Launches Self-Contained MicroFlow Ductless Workstation

HEMCO has launched the MicroFlow Ductless Workstation, a ductless, carbon-filtered workstation with activated carbon filtration to collect small amounts of non-hazardous fumes and odors.

In a late April news announcement, HEMCO described the workstation as completely self-contained, “with integral recessed work surface to contain spills.” It measures 12 inches wide, 18 inches deep, and 14.5 inches high to allow easy access for the user’s hands.

HEMCO said typical applications for the MicroFlow Ductless Workstation include general chemistry tasks that involve small volumes of common chemicals, plus gluing and drying tasks, solvent cleaning of electronic parts, and soldering.

A clear hood contains a viewing sash for the operator, and the sash “can be conformed for use with a microscope,” HEMCO said. The workstation’s variable-speed fan control can be set at high or medium speeds; a low-flow setting is also available for sensitive operations.

The MicroFlow Ductless Workstation operates on 115v AC or 230v International and conforms to UL, CSA, and CE requirements. The electrical port exits on the left side. The workstation’s design allows for easy changing of used filters; while filter life will vary by user, HEMCO recommends filters be changed ever 60 to 90 days.
