Save the Date: NEMEP’s Annual Meeting Scheduled for September

The annual meeting for the Northeast Medical Equipment Providers Association (NEMEP) is Sept. 13-14 at the Embassy Suites in Springs, N.Y. Member providers as well as non-member providers can attend, and exhibitor sponsorships are available.


Ability Center Announces Rebranding

Ability Center is changing the name of its 18 locations to United Access, the adaptive automotive provider announced April 4. The rebranding will give United Access a total of 50 locations, and expands United Access’s footprint particularly along the West Coast.

Chad Blake — Senior Vice President of Sales & Store Operations for United Access and the former President of Ability Center — said in the announcement, “We are changing our name, but not our commitment to our customers. No matter what store you visit, you’ll experience the same high standards of service and care from the Ability Center consultants and technicians you’ve always known.”


Researchers to Investigate Incontinence in Women

Researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham have received two grants to study urgency urinary incontinence in women. The two grants, worth more than $1.5 million combined, were awarded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, according to an April 3 news announcement.
