Transcend Intros Baseball-Sized CPAP Device

The small, lightweight Transcend Micro delivers OSA therapy while weighing under a half pound and measuring less than four inches across.

Sleep therapy device maker Transcend Inc. has released the Transcend Micro, a travel CPAP that weighs under a half pound and measures less than four inches across.

The Transcend Micro is designed to make it more convenient for OSA patients to maintain their sleep therapy at home or on the road.

“When we designed the new Transcend Micro, we didn’t want to simply introduce another portable CPAP,” said William Brown, Chief Financial Officer at Transcend. “We challenged ourselves to deliver a CPAP device that reflects the lifestyle and preferences of today’s users.”

To that end, in addition to the small form factor, the device is customizable via add-on accessories and smart features, such as Bluetooth connectivity that lets users track their sleep therapy data via a mobile app.

The Transcend Micro also features quiet operation, auto-adjusting pressure, and air pressure relief. Accessories include the Transcend WhisperSoft muffler for acoustic sound reduction and the Transcend AirMist HME (heat moisture exchanger) for waterless humidification.

The Transcend Micro is compatible with any CPAP mask so patients can use their existing mask or purchase their preferred style. In terms of travel flexibility, the device can be powered by a travel-size battery.
