Former Apria Exec Joins Quality Biomedical Advisory Board

Jack Baikie will bring his lengthy background in managing healthcare supply chains and provider resources to the equipment management company.

Quality Biomedical, which provides equipment management solutions for the HME industry, has appointed former Apria Healthcare executive Jack Baikie to its advisory board.

A veteran supply chain expert, Baikie served as Apria’s former Chief Procurement Officer, where he ensured the organization was equipped with sufficient assets to fulfill its clinical roles and that those assets were cost-effectively serviced and maintained to meet all regulatory standards. He retired from Apria this year.

Prior to Apria, Baikie held several executive procurement and supply chain roles at companies such as Compaq Computer, Gateway Computer, and Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems.

A statement from Quality Biomedical noted that Baikie’s lengthy experience in healthcare supply chains — particularly related to respiratory equipment, in which the company specializes — will be significant to its core business.

“Our Advisory Board is an important element of our company, providing advice and guidance to our Board and management team,” said PK Bala, CEO of Quality Biomedical. “Jack is an ideal candidate given his extensive knowledge of supply chain issues across a broad spectrum of industries and particularly his 12 years at Apria Healthcare. We are confident his wealth of knowledge and experience in the home medical equipment industry will be invaluable to us.”

“I am very honored to be asked to serve on Quality Biomedical’s Advisory Board,” Baikie said. “As a senior executive in the home healthcare industry, I observed the significant differentiation in service and supply chain solutions that Quality Biomedical has developed and deployed and I am very excited to play a part in helping them maintain their impressive growth trajectory.”
