Brightree Patient Collections named Best New Healthcare Payment Tech

The fifth annual MedTech Breakthrough Awards program recognized the system, which is designed to address common challenges in HME patient collections.

Independent market intelligence organization MedTech Breakthrough has named Brightree Patient Collections (BPC) solution as the winner of the “Best New Technology Solution for Healthcare Payment” in its fifth annual MedTech Breakthrough Awards program.

BPC is an all-in-one, complete billing solution designed to address the most common challenges in home medical equipment (HME) patient collections. The system helps providers resolve payment issues through various payment modules and offerings before accounts are turned over to third-party collections, focusing on collecting the cash providers are owed so they can redirect resources back into the business and patient care.

Brightree Patient Collections’ suite of solutions ranges from traditional billing of patient statements to automatic solutions such as AutoPAY, which lets patients save cards on file with their providers. Other workflow options, such as a bill pay site with payment options and reminder calls within the workflow, offer patients numerous payment methods without requiring additional staff interaction.

Using interactive voice response (IVR) technology, Brightree Inbound Payment is a new calling service within BPC designed to ease payment collections while reallocating resources away from time spent on the phone.

“BPC helps providers get paid faster and go one step further to develop an upfront policy for getting paid, ultimately improving efficiency and allowing staff to concentrate on higher payoff activities,” said Matt Mellott, President and CEO at Brightree. “We are proud to receive this 2021 MedTech Breakthrough Award and look forward to continued success and momentum as we continue to simplify the business of out-of-hospital care.”

“Brightree identified the most common challenges in HME patient collections and built a breakthrough solution with an impressive range of options and integrations that serve as an all-in-one solution complete with automation, best business practices, and a knowledgeable billing and collections team,” said James Johnson, managing director, MedTech Breakthrough.
