Medtrade West: ‘Don’t Fear the Heat!’

After announcing earlier that it was moving the event from April to July 12-14, Emerald assures attendees that the Phoenix Convention Center has beat the summer heat.

Events company Emerald, which organizes the industry’s Medtrade events reassured attendees that while it was moved Medtrade West to July 12-14 at the Phoenix Convention Center, they shouldn’t worry about Arizona’s summer heat.

“We know the show takes place during summer time in Phoenix, but my message to prospective attendees is don’t fear the heat,” said York Schwab, associate show director for the event. “The air conditioning is great at the Phoenix Convention Center. The weather cools down at night, and it’s also true that hotel rooms are not as expensive during summer in Phoenix.”

Citing the ongoing COVID-19 public health emergency and shutdowns on travel and large gatherings, Emerald announced in December that it would postpone the Medtrade West conference and expo from April 12-14 to July 12-14 to increase the likelihood of having an in-person event.

A live event will help ensure that attendees can take advantage of show features such as networking events, live educational conference  and special workshops so that the event meets the industry’s expectations, according to a previous statement from Emerald. Besides that, Phoenix offers some pretty "hot" diversions and entertainment, which Emerald listed in a press release.

“We are focused on continuing to serve our industry, creating ways to connect, and working closely with our communities to provide the necessary support and information for a successful July 2021 show,” York said.
