HME software has experience as fast-paced an evolution as the providers that use it have. Once simple billing software, HME IT systems now manage every aspect of the provider business.

Matt Mellott, president and CEO of HME software maker Brightree, took some time at last month’s annual Medtrade in Atlanta to discuss HME technology trends. Discussion points included how HME providers’ technology needs are changing, how his company’s software is responding to those needs, and how HME software needs will soon change. Key trends driving those changes included the growing use of analytics, the push for EMR interoperability, and expanding resupply revenues, to name just a few.
