Compass Health Hires New Executives to Drive Post-Acquisition Growth

New hires include Zenko as SVP of HME division, Blockinger as VP of strategic accounts, Scarsella as national sales director, and Kaplan as VP of product management.

Following a wave of acquisitions, Compass Health Brands is beefing up its leadership team to help manage a growing range of offerings.

Gregory Zenko is taking the reins as senior vice president of the HME division. Zenko has 20 years of experience in the medical device and equipment industry, with stints at Linet Americas and ScottCare Cardiovascular, among others. In his new role, Zenko will "lead the company’s strategy, development and position in the home medical equipment market and distributor channels for both domestic and global markets," according to information released by Compass Health.

Todd Blockinger and Michael Scarsella will report to Zenko. Blockinger joins the team having served most recently as vice president of sales for the Med Group. Blockinger will be the vice president of strategic accounts at Compass Health. Scarsella has been named national sales director for Compass Health, following his recent gig as NE regional vice president at Golden Technologies.

Peter Kaplan joins the growing team at Compass Health as well, coming aboard as the vice president of product management. Kaplan has 27 years of product and marketing management behind him at organizations including Philips Healthcare, Affymetrix and Foresight Science and Technology.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have these new additions to our team,” said Compass Health Brands President and CEO Stuart Straus in a prepared statement. “These talented leaders bring great passion and additional competencies to ensure our efforts to be the best customer-focused supplier for our dealer and distributor partners. We as a company will continue to invest in our customer-first culture to ensure the best customer experience, as it is all about our Customers and we are thankful for the opportunity to serve them.”

The spate of new hires follows a period of booming expansion for the company, which has acquired four other health businesses in a little more than a year. Compass Health Brands now comprises Carex Health Brands, Roscoe Medical, ProBasics and Meridian.

Beneath the expanded leadership, Compass Health has more than doubled its field presence and "realigned" its sales organization to better care for the combined customer base and added a customer and sales support representative to its inside sales team to " provide a personalized concierge-level of customer service to its customer base," according to information released by the company.
