Invacare Names Chief Information Officer

Invacare Corp. has named Dave Mewes as Chief Information Officer.

Mewes will be responsible for providing vision and leadership to develop, maintain and utilize information technology resources to support Invacare globally, though his initial focus will be in North America. Other responsibilities include leading the Information Systems Steering Committee in working with key business leaders.

"We're glad to have Dave on board," said Greg Thompson, CFO. "His expertise will allow us to streamline our internal operational and informational processes. He will also ensure that we are taking full advantage of the ERP system we implemented in late 2005."

Mewes has 20 years of experience in information technology and non-IT business leadership roles across a broad array of technical and non-technical functions in companies such as Fortune Brands and Champion Laboratories.
